Application Information
Applicants to Health Policy & Management will apply through
the online centralized application service for CEPH-accredited schools of
public health – SOPHAS.
- Apply online through SOPHAS,
www.sophas.org
- Pay application fee directly to SOPHAS
- Submit personal statement through SOPHAS
- Submit letters of recommendation directly to SOPHAS
- Submit official transcripts for ALL education directly to
SOPHAS
- Submit official GRE and TOEFL scores (if applicable) to
SOPHAS code 5688
- Applicants to the JD/MPH joint degree program may submit
their LSAT score in place of a GRE score.
SOPHAS submits applications to the Graduate School of Public
Health only after all required materials are received. Applicants who have
submitted applications may track the status online at
www.sophas.org.
Admission Requirements:
MHA Applicants:
- a bachelor's degree
from an accredited college or university;
- scores from the
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are required; TOEFL scores are required
for foreign applicants;
- a minimum of three
(3) post-secondary (college/university) level semester credits in human
biology;
- a minimum of three
(3) post-secondary (college/university) level semester credits in
mathematics (algebra or higher) or statistics taken in a department of
mathematics. (e.g., a statistics class offered by a psychology or
education department will not suffice).
- a minimum of six (6)
post-secondary (college/university) level semester credits in the social
and behavioral sciences, preferably at least one course in economics.
MPH & JD/MPH Applicants:
- a bachelor's degree
from an accredited college or university;
- for MPH Applicants:
scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are required; for JD/MPH
Applicants: scores from the LSAT will be accepted in lieu of GRE scores.
- TOEFL scores are
required for foreign applicants;
- a minimum of three
(3) post-secondary (college/university) level semester credits in
mathematics (algebra or higher) or statistics taken in a department of
mathematics. (e.g., a statistics class offered by a psychology or

Undergraduate performance is an important
factor in the admissions committee's decision, as are the scores on the GRE
and letters of recommendation. The committee looks for evidence of good
interpersonal and communication skills in applicants. Students are encouraged
to apply as early as possible; completed applications are reviewed as they are
received, and decisions are made quickly. |
